(Wooster, Ohio — October 29, 2010) Equine artist Karen Brenner is celebrating 10 years of painting horses with two special projects: a retrospective and video and book.

During the past 10 years, Karen has completed almost 500 paintings of horses. Using multiple layers of oil paint, Karen carefully builds transluscent colors accentuating the realistic horses in her work. Close up and personal images of horses fill Karen Brenner's colorful paintings.

Karen has met and photographed all the horses appearing in her paintings. This allowed her to capture their unique personalities and demeanors. Traveling to a different state each year for her "Beautiful Horses of ..." series, Karen has painted horses from Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan. Currently she is working on paintings featuring selected horses from Indiana. Paintings from all five series are included in the book and video, along with many horses Karen photographed at equine events and auctions. The artist also does commissions.
