To capture each horse's unique personality, I begin by spending time with the horse and taking dozens of photos.

Getting to meet each horse is an important and fun part of the commission process. How else would I be able to capture the horse's personality. I like nothing better than photographing horses' quiet expressions, energetic movements, and classic poses. Capturing unique compositions, wonderful close ups, and the magnificent beauty of horses is my passion!

The photographs form the basis for a variety of layouts which I put together for the commissioner's consideration. The layouts will include my between 3-6 of my favorite poses or combination of shots. Together we choose the best one for the painting.

Once a design is agreed upon, an appropriate size is selected. The price is based on the size, so selecting a size within a specific price range is important.

Then the painting begins! Using multiple layers of translucent oils, I work to build luminous colors and carefully create a beautiful oil painting..

A paintings takes approximately three months to complete. When the painting is done, I will email or mail a photograph of the finished piece to the purchaser. If it is approved payment is made at that time. Then the painting is mailed.
