Equine artist Karen Brenner’s new series – Faces and Places— is on display in Columbus, Ohio. Inspired by some of her favorite horses and locations from the past 20 years Brenner created these realistic paintings to showcase the beauty of horses. The exhibit will be at the Hilton Columbus Downtown October 1 – 28, 2021. Stop by and chat with the artist in person Saturday, October 2 from 1 – 3 pm.

Faces and Places - Horse Paintings by Karen Brenner exhibit

“Faces and Places” reflects both Brenner’s love of painting horses close up  – and stretches her to depict landscapes where her favorite equines live. “Faces” include favorite breeds—Paints, Arabians, gaited horses, Camargue horses and more. “Places” featured in the paintings include the Duchess Sanctuary – a horse rescue in Oregon, the Camargue wetlands of southern France and scenes from country lanes and barnyards in the eastern US.

Based in Wooster, Ohio, Brenner has been creating oil paintings of horses for over 20 years. Her “Beautiful Horses of…” series has taken her to horse farms around the United States where she has had to privilege to photograph hundreds of horses in their natural settings. With tens of thousands of photos in her reference library choosing subjects for the Faces and Places series was fun for the artist. It brought back many happy memories.

Brenner is delighted to have her paintings on display in the wonderful exhibit space just inside the Hilton Columbus Downtown during Ohio’s number one equine event – Quarter Horse Congress. One of the most unique hotels in the country, the Hilton Columbus Downtown has a permanent collection of over 230 original artworks on display throughout the hotel and restaurant. All the work is done by artists with connections to Ohio. Located in the Short North Arts District, the hotels exhibit hallway, which is open for artwork viewing 24/7, rotates exhibits monthly.

“It’s an honor to once again have my paintings on display in such a wonderful space. The hotel’s dedication to artists is amazing,” states Brenner

The exhibit runs October 1 – 28, 2021 at the Hilton Columbus Downtown, 401 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio.
