White on White
The newest painting in my Horse Ballet series is all about white. You know I love painting the subtle colors in white horses! I wanted to feature the Camargue stallion I photographed in the South of France in a special painting.
Studying ballet photographs for inspiration for my Horse Ballet series, I was drawn to a photo of ballerina dressed in white with a stark white background. Challenge on!
My solid white background is enhanced by a touch of color and swirling movement – inspired by the beautiful stallion’s dashing presence.
It was hard not to include the Mediterranean Sea that was actually in the photo – and maybe someday I’ll do another painting with the rolling waves.
