Here’s a fun painting that was originally going to be part of the Horse Ballet series. But it took a turn for the ….. sky!

Inspired by the recent stories in the news about pilots reporting a “guy in a jetpack” over LAX, I decided to dig out some of my photos from flights in the past. I remembered one photo taken enroute to Montana a couple years ago with (possibly) Yellowstone down below. And my photo of Quarter Horse, Snowy, shows him airbourne! Well, put the two together, and voila!

It is a little tongue in check, like my Horse Ballet painting “Rocky Mountain High.” And like Rocky Mountain High, which I was originally going to name “Spring”, this painting has an alternative name as well….I really wanted to name this one “Look Mom, No Jetpack!” But with the snow on the ground here in Ohio, I decided on “Snowy over Yellowstone.” Which name do you like better?
